KENT BEYDA, A.C.E. (film editor), one of the industry’s premier editors, is known as a "genrebuster", moving fluidly from big budget CGI movies to comedy, horror, and family films.

After graduating from Boston University with a degree in film and broadcasting, Beyda began his editorial career as an assistant on such films as John Cassavetes’ “Opening Night,” Roger Corman’s “Rock ‘n’ Roll High School” and Joe Dante’s “The Howling.” He graduated to film editor on Tom Holland’s horror film “Fright Night,” and reunited with Dante on two more projects -- his sci-fi thriller, “Innerspace,” and “Gremlins 2: The New Batch.” Both were produced by Steven Spielberg.

He has also cut music videos for such artists as Bette Midler and Mick Jagger (Beast of Burden), Elvis Costello (You’re Not the Only Flame), Rod Stewart (Infatuation and Some Guys Have All the Luck), Brian Setzer Orchestra (Jingle Bells), the B52s (Meet the Flintstones) and Barbra Streisand (Emotion and Left in the Dark).

Beyda has also served as an editorial consultant on such films as “Fantastic Four,” “George of the Jungle” ,Fox's animated hits “Robots,” and “Horton Hears A Who!,” "Dude, Where's My Car?" “Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties,” "Jonah Hex," Mike Judge’s comedy, “Idiocracy,” and Terry Zwigoff’s irreverent comedy, “Bad Santa.”

His feature film credits include the 1999 remake “The Out-of-Towners,” , “True Identity,” “Jingle All the Way,” “Big Momma’s House,” “Fear,” “Alien Nation,” “Out of Bounds,” Rob Reiner’s directorial debut “This Is Spinal Tap,” and actor Billy Crystal’s two films as a director -- “Mr. Saturday Night” and “Forget Paris.” He is an expert editor of visual effects movies, such as the Spielberg - produced "The Flintstones" and the two "Scooby Doo" movies and most recently edited and co-produced the feature “S. Darko,” and edited the live action/CG "Yogi Bear" for Warner Brothers.
